HTF Universe Robin Williams

Ugh, now I know my friends will think "That's it, she's gone off the deep end into DA-cliches. There's no hope for the poor girl!". But before you decide to unwatch me, remember my whole "Road To The Multiverse 2" concept (which is currently in development hell... but then again what do you expect when someone has over 9000 ideas but only herself to carry them out?) Well, as you know I love Robin Williams, and I also for some reason like sticking him in the Family Guy world even though they make fun of him (although my favorite character, Meg, is also mocked, so naturally I team them up)... so I had this idea for a sequel to Road To The Multiverse where Meg comes along, and I just had to put Robin in it too. Because I love him so much (I sure have a weird way of showing it though :P ). Uh, so one of the many additional universes I had planned for them to end up in is the Happy Tree Friends universe. I already did the three Griffins: [link] , so here's Robin. And as you can see, I love him so much that I drew it all myself instead of using a base. Hence why it looks crappier than the bases. :P

Yeah, he's a bat. I know he's done other animals, like penguins in Happy Feet and he kinda was a cat in a Mork & Mindy episode, and also he's gonna play a tiger on Broadway next spring... Oh, and his ex-wife Marsha called him the "blue eyed wolf"; but come on, wolves are SO cliche. So, why do a reference to Ferngully, a film associated with tree-huggin hippies and 90s nostalgiatards (a term that I not only despise, but also one that doesn't apply to me in this case, since I didn't watch it in full until a couple years ago, and guess what? I fucking loved it for what it was)? Maybe it's because Batty was the first animal character that came to mind. Maybe it's because I think he deserves the power of flight. Maybe it's because I like the idea of forcing him to sleep upside-down ala Mork again. Maybe it's all of the above. Plus the fact that I already decided he's a bat in the Sonic world ([link]). Hey, if the FG writers were gonna use the multiverse idea to be sexist pigs, then how the hell can I look worse by using it to do silly in-jokes? (Meg's gonna come out better in my version btw)

Anyway, the HTF universe. Yes... I think Stewie will like this one. Unfortunately for the others. :mwahaha: Carnage will befall poor Brian, Meg, and Robin... but don't worry, Stewie will get his too. This is a weird one to write in my head since all the HTF characters talk in cutesy animal gibberish. I think once one is in their world, one will understand. And if I'm gonna mock the Sonic fandom in the Sonic world, I should do the same here. And possibly make my own little backstory about what da heck is going on in the HTF world anyway. (Why do I keep making dark[er] fanon for silly things?)

Now is the part where I go over the drawing process (aka the boring part where I bitch about how I can't draw certain things)... this was actually pretty easy. I made a sketch of it, and then when I was making the digital version I tried as hard as I could to correct the mistakes I made (you'll see when I post the sketch). I need to work more on getting the outlines right, because I've taken note of how HTF uses colored outlines (much like the ones used for The Pink Panther) instead of just black ones. I basically need to make sure they're not too thick or too thin (and they were a bit to thick here, I think). I think I did the wings well. :aww: Don't ask how the shirt goes on over the wings... actually, Robin trying to figure that out would result in some hilarious blood and gore right there! :P I like the pose I did, reminiscent of HTF season 1 intros (I even tried to make the tree look like something out of the intro... and failed like I do with all backgrounds :( ). Oh, and I gave him fangs even though he's supposed to be a fruit bat. Because it looks cool. And Robin Williams deserves to look cool, even when he's in a cartoon universe traveling into another cartoon universe. So there.

And I apologize to Robin Williams for what I've done to him with this... and what I will do to him in the follow-ups. :devilish: It's all done with love, you know!

heh, RE: Fern Gully... I remember watching it in middle school during biology class. I believe it was the day before Christmas break, and I guess the teacher didn't care what we did. We all LOVED it. I still do, in fact, even if the message of the film is heavy-handed and there are... fairies... looking back on that now, I can't understand why fairies, and not more talking creatures like Batty Koda, but eh. Magic. Actually now I wonder why they had to imprison Nexxus at all... if I remember correctly he didn't eat the forest, he ate pollution, so why not keep him around to eat all the pollution in the world, THEN seal him in the tree? :D

Anyway. I'm glad they chose Robin to do Batty's voice, he was hilarious as usual. Did they perhaps choose him because the man is batshit insane? AR AR, HUMOR. I'll leave now. :D
